How the taxomade team researches, writes and updates the guides in our Knowledge Hub.

Why we publish guides

Most questions we hear from internationals moving to or living in Greece are the same: taxes, social security, registrations, invoicing and deadlines. Our guides answer them in plain language, so you can understand your situation before you decide anything.

Where our information comes from

We base our guides on primary sources wherever possible:

  • the Greek tax authority (AADE) and its announcements and decisions,
  • the Greek social security fund (e-EFKA),
  • Greek law as published in the Government Gazette (ΦΕΚ),
  • double tax treaties and the official websites of foreign tax and social security authorities,
  • EU law and guidance from the European Commission.

Where a rule depends on your individual situation, we say so instead of giving a one-size-fits-all answer. If we cannot confirm a statement from a reliable source, we leave it out.

Dates and updates

Greek tax rules change often, and deadlines are sometimes postponed at short notice. Every guide therefore shows the date it was published and, where relevant, when it was last updated. We review our guides regularly and update them when rules, amounts or deadlines change.

Independence

taxomade is a private accounting and tax practice. We are not a government authority. Our guides explain how the system works; where we mention our own services, we do so openly.
